Burnham author Damien Boyd to hold book signing session for new novel tomorrow

-

Burnham-On-Sea author Damien Boyd is set to hold a book signing session in the town on Saturday (May 18th) to mark the launch of the ninth novel in his best-selling series of crime books which features a murder at Hinkley Point.

The new novel, called Beyond the Point, is the latest in Damien’s DI Nick Dixon series, which has sold over two million copies worldwide.

In advance of the publication on May 23rd, Damien will be signing copies of the new book at a pre-launch event at GW Hurley book shop in Burnham-On-Sea High Street at 10am on Saturday.

Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Damien said: “It feels like a long time, but Nick, Jane and Monty are in action again and do I hope it’s been worth the wait!”

The popular series of crime thrillers follows the exploits of Nick Dixon, a detective inspector in the Avon & Somerset Police, based at the police centre at Express Park, Bridgwater.

“I recently saw the series described as ‘well-established’ and ‘long running’, which is thanks entirely to the readers, whose reviews and messages of support via social media keep me going!” Damien said.

He added: “Nick is on the trail of a vicious serial killer in Beyond the Point and I’d particularly like to thank EDF Energy Plc, who were extraordinarily generous with their time during the research stage for the book; and for allowing me to set large parts of the novel inside the Hinkley Point C construction site.”

“DI Nick Dixon is on the hunt for a vicious serial killer, following a trail of fingerprints and DNA across west Somerset.”

When the body of a young woman is found on the building site of the nuclear power station, work grinds to a halt.

“The body bears all the hallmarks of yet another random murder at the hands of the escaped killer. Then Dixon finds a motive,” says Damien.

“Fighting for his place on the Major Investigation Team, he soon uncovers a family’s desperate search for the truth, exposing a web of corruption and death that will shake the billion pound construction project to its very foundations. But, who can be trusted when so much money is at stake?”

“Can Dixon find the killer under intense pressure from the top of government? And, can he do it before anyone else has to die?”

Damien also revealed he is already working on book ten in the series, which will be set on the Sedgemoor battlefield.

Beyond the Point will be officially released on Thursday 23rd May and will be available in ebook, paperback and audio formats via Amazon here.
