Bestselling author and lifelong naturalist Stephen Moss will present a tribute to the much-loved birder, TV presenter and comic genius Bill Oddie at Burnham-On-Sea’s book festival in October.
Burnham Book Festival returns for its fifth year this autumn. It will open with an evening event featuring local bestselling author Damien Boyd on Friday 16th October, followed by a full day of workshops, talks and opportunities to meet local writers on Saturday 17th October.
The festival will close out the day’s events with a tribute to Bill Oddie with Stephen Moss as he discusses the life and work of friend and colleague Bill Oddie.
It will show extracts from the many television programmes they made together, including Birding with Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie Goes Wild and of course Springwatch.
“This event promises to be fascinating and moving look at the life and career of Bill, his work with British television, comedy and conservation, as well as the man behind the persona” says festival committee member, Becky Worthington.
Stephen Moss is one of Britain’s leading television producers, a broadcaster, and a nature writer, who has published more than 30 books about British birds and wildlife. He is passionate about communicating the wonders of the natural world to as many people as possible.
This appearance forms part of a packed programme for this year’s Burnham Book Festival, celebrating books, writers and ideas, bringing authors and readers together in Burnham.
