Residents at Tudor Lodge Residential Home in Burnham-On-Sea enjoyed a special Easter visit this week when pupils from Burnham Infants School arrived with their newly‑hatched chicks.

Ten children visited the care home to introduce residents to the chicks, which hatched at the school last week.

Tudor Lodge has helped look after the chicks over weekends for the past few years, giving residents the chance to enjoy what staff describe as valuable “pet therapy”.

A spokesperson for the home said it is always a highlight for residents: “It’s a great opportunity for our residents to spend some time with the chicks, and it’s lovely to see how they engage with the children when they visit.”

The visit brought smiles and gentle interaction, with residents holding and stroking the chicks while chatting with the pupils.

“We’re always delighted to welcome the children,” added the spokesperson. “It brings a real sense of joy and energy into the home.”
