Burnham-On-Sea MP Ashley Fox has launched the return of his popular Coast to Countryside photo competition, inviting residents to capture the landscapes, communities and moments that make the Bridgwater constituency such a distinctive part of Somerset.
The competition, which proved a hit last summer, celebrates the variety of scenery stretching from Burnham-On-Sea’s coastline and the Somerset Levels to the Quantock Hills, along with the busy town centres and villages that give the area its character.
This year’s entries will be shortlisted across three themes covering coast, countryside and community life, with everything from beaches and rivers to farmland, high streets and local events eligible for submission.
Ashley Fox said he was delighted to bring the competition back, adding that last year’s entries showcased some superb photographs from across the constituency.
He said the area’s beauty and diversity make it a special place to live, and he hopes residents will share the landscapes, favourite spots and community moments that make them proud to call Somerset home.
Entries can be posted in the comments of the MP’s Facebook competition post here or shared on personal timelines using the #CoastToCountryside hashtag and tagging @Ashley7Fox. Photos must be taken within the Bridgwater constituency, and the closing date is 5pm on Sunday 16th August. A shortlist will be chosen by Ashley Fox, with the overall winner decided by a public vote on Facebook.
