This winning shot of a sunset was among over 200 photographs that went on show at Burnham-On-Sea Camera Club’s 11th annual exhibition on Saturday (July 20th).

The group held its popular photography exhibition at Burnham-On-Sea’s Methodist Church in College Street, featuring a wide range of photographs from 22 members.

Best in show was Ileana Goanta with a stunning sunset shot (pictured at the top of this page), joint 2nd were Phil Thorne (for the photo of reflections in water below) and John Colquhoun (for the photo of canal at Maunsel Lock below) and 3rd place went to Jan Bonus (for the moon shot beneath).

The club’s Chairman, Phil Thorne, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a record number of 177 visitors during the day to see our exhibition of 204 photos – it was a very successful day. The photos were of a high standard and featured a range of scenes, from local landmarks to portraits.”

The Camera club is now in its 11th year and meets every Tuesday evening from September at the BAY Centre where newcomers are welcome.

Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Andy Brewer, who opened the exhibition, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This event shows how much superb local talent we have in the area – and having the event in the church really puts it at the heart of the community on days like this.”
