Burnham-On-Sea mental health charity In Charley’s Memory has received a welcome financial boost this week thanks to a generous donation from members of the Burnham Buffs Excelsior Lodge 10459.
Representatives from the lodge visited the charity’s new High Street base — the former GE Hurleys newsagent premises — to present a cheque for £1,000 in support of its ongoing work with young people.
The long‑running lodge, formed in 1986, raised the funds through a series of local fundraising activities.
Alan said: “We are very happy to support such a super local charity with their work.”
In Charley’s Memory’s Dawn Carey thanked the group for their generosity, adding that the donation will help towards the charity’s ongoing refurbishment works ahead of its planned grand opening later in April.
The group meets at Cassis Close on Tuesday evenings, and those interested in finding out more can contact Alan Robbins on 07713 241978.
