A Burnham-On-Sea town centre store was evacuated during a small fire incident on Tuesday morning (September 1st).
Two fire appliances were sent to Boots the chemist in Burnham-On-Sea High Street, as pictured here.
A fire service spokesman said: “We were called just before 9.45am and sent two appliances. There were reports of a smell of electrical burning but no signs of smoke or flames.”
“We checked the building with a thermal imaging camera and isolated the electrics.”
”The building was evacuated in the meantime.”
A Burnham Boots spokesperson later added that the incident had been caused by an issue with an air conditioning unit. Customers were thanked for their patience.
