comic con burnham-on-sea

Fans of Batman, Star Wars, Superman and other comic book heroes will be heading to Burnham-On-Sea today (Saturday, August 17th) for the town’s second Comic Con.

The popular event – which was first held in Burnham-On-Sea in 2017 – will be held from 10am. There will be special VIP guests, exhibitor stalls, props and a Cosplay Masquerade.

Organiser Jade Parkes told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the event will be bigger and better this year, and will be located at Burnham’s Princess Theatre.

She said: “We have over 20 different props for pictures to be taken with, professional cosplayers such as the group Somerset Cosplayers and Angel Effects. An Optimus Prime will also be walking around at certain times throughout the day.”

“There will also be a Lightning McQueen car outside, Kingston Exotics who will bring various animals for the public to see such as lizards, snakes and owls.”

She added: “As for guests we have Brian Wheeler who was in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Life is Too Short and Stag of the Dead.”
“Jon Davey, who has played various monsters in 38 Doctor Who episodes, will be there, as will Derrick Martin, known as Charlie Slater from Eastenders and Only fools and horses, The Bill and Little Britain.”
“We will also have Clem So, who has been in 30 major films to date, such as Guardians Of The Galaxy, James Bond, 47 Ronin, Assassins Creed, Jurassic World, Sherlock and many more.”
“And, of course, there will be stalls for everything comic, gaming, film & TV, anime and book-related where you will be able to buy merchandise, clothing and collectables.”
