A Burnham-On-Sea town centre convenience store has submitted an application to Somerset Council to increase the hours that it can sell alcohol.
VJ Stores, a Family Shopper franchise outlet at 33 High Street, opened last April. Applicant Rashiharan Sivarajan has applied for a variation of its premises licence to extend its hours.
“The variation being sought is an extension of the times alcohol can be sold for consumption off the premises. The proposed hours are 7am to 9pm each day of the week,” says a council spokesperson.
A summary of the application can be viewed online on Somerset Council’s recent licence applications page. Anyone wishing to make a representation must do so in writing to the licensing authority, giving in detail the grounds of objection, within 28 days of the notice.
Representations can be emailed to licensing.sedgemoor@somerset.gov.uk or posted to Licensing, Somerset Council, Bridgwater House Bridgwater, TA6 3AR. A copy of the full application can also be requested by phoning 0300 123 2224.
