A long-serving member of staff at Burnham-On-Sea’s Greggs store is set to retire this week after an impressive 25 years with the bakery chain.
Jan Galley joined Greggs in 1999 and says she has “loved every minute” of her time working on the High Street, particularly meeting and serving generations of loyal customers.
“I will miss working with the great team and customers here in Burnham,” she said. “It’s been a huge part of my life.”
Jan added that the famous Greggs sausage roll has remained the most requested item throughout her career. “I must have served hundreds of thousands of them over the years,” she laughed. “They’re just as popular today as when the store first opened — although the price has certainly changed.”
Jan is pictured this week alongside staff member Jane, manager Aaron, and regional manager Richard as she prepares to hang up her apron for the final time.
Her colleagues say she will be greatly missed and thanked her for her dedication and hard work over the past quarter-century.
