A new Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge history leaflet has been published featuring photos with a theme of ‘work and play’ in the two towns.
It is the latest in a series of publications from Burnham-On-Sea Heritage Group that aim to encourage residents to step back in time and learn more about local history.
The leaflet, available with a donation, is available from Superchips in the High Street and Burnham Tourist Information Centre on the seafront.
Organiser Ann Popham says the new leaflet features photos of the seafront over the decades plus historic images of local community groups and businesses such as Holts Brewery, the Brick Works, Durrants Butchers and Lott’s Jewellers from the early 1900s.
There are also images of local sports teams and community celebrations over the decades.
The leaflet has been supported by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council.
