Burnham-On-Sea holiday homes firm opens new showground after move to larger site

-

A long‑established Burnham-On-Sea holiday homes distributor has officially opened a new, larger showground this week following a major relocation.

Willerby Southern Counties Leisure has moved from its former base of 30 years in Berrow Road, Burnham-On-Sea, to a significantly bigger site at Edithmead, just off the M5 roundabout.

During a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday with dozens of guests from the local tourism indsutry, the company said the move was essential after outgrowing its previous premises.

CEO Peter Munk said: “The new showground now features 18 holiday homes on display, more than double the eight that could be accommodated before.”

“We are delighted with the new showground and the extra space,” he said. “It’s our 80th year of business and we are so grateful to our many loyal customers.”

The company traces its roots back to 1946, when founder Walter Allan, based in Willerby near Hull, shifted from making beehives to building touring caravans for the growing post‑war holiday industry. The firm has operated continuously ever since.

The new Edithmead site is now open to visitors, offering a wider range of models for customers to explore.
