Hundreds of pounds have been raised for Weston Hospicecare following a series of open gardens events in Burnham-On-Sea.

The charity’s Burnham-On-Sea Friends Group organised for six gardens to be open to the public last Sunday, with visitors invited to give donations.

The group’s Phil Thorne told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “An extremely successful and very well attended open garden event was organised by Peter and Jeanne Gilraine at their home.”

“They recruited six of their near neighbours to also open their gardens to raise funds for Weston Hospicecare.”

“This much-valued and used local charity has now received the wonderful sum of £736.57 plus the online just giving page set up has raised £85 giving a grand total of £821.57.”

“This is our last open garden event for 2019, however we plan more open garden events in the Burnham area during 2020.”

On Saturday 19th October the group is holding a ‘Soup and Pud’ fundraising event in the Community Centre. Details to follow.
