Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser takes on marathon for mental health charity

-

A Burnham-On-Sea runner is set to run a marathon to raise funds for a local charity that helps people with mental health.

Kevin Clements will take on the Newport Marathon on October 24th to help the charity Rusty Road To Recovery which aims to help people suffering with their mental health while working on classic cars.

Kevin says: “A lot of people have struggled with their mental health over the last twenty months because of the Covid Pandemic and Rusty Road to Recovery have been there trying to help as many as possible, even delivering food parcels during the first lockdown.”

“Sadly, Rusty Road to Recovery was flooded about six weeks ago when a lot of equipment was water damaged and now needs replacing.”

Kevin says his preparations for the run have been challenging, adding: “My training has been very hard as I have had a couple of bad injuries since the beginning of February and training has been very limited, this will be my 15th marathon and it will be probably be my last.”

“Please help Rusty Road to Recovery by making a donation.” See his fundraising page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/rustyrun
