Dozens of emergency services from across the West Country will be gathering on Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront on Sunday August 30th when the town’s popular annual emergency services day returns.
Scores of displays and demonstrations will be held on Burnham seafront and beach from 10am to 4pm with displays of hovercrafts, lifeboats, Coastguards, ambulances, fire engines and more.
Those intending to be present will include: BARB Search and Rescue, Burnham RNLI, Burnham Coastguard, Burnham Fire Service, Police and South West Ambulance.
The full participants include BARB, RNLI, HM Coastguard, RNLI Lifeguards, the RNLI Shop, Doc Bikes, Wessex4x4, the Fire Service, Police Cadets, ASSAR, the Rotary Book Stall, a crepe cart, Weston Helicopter Museum, BIARS, Great Western Air Ambulance, vintage fire appliances, Weston Hospice, Highbridge Scouts, Burnham Sea Cadets, Burnham Gig Club, an ice cream van, Monarchs Gymnasts, Chalice Morris Men, Burnham & Highbridge Town Band, the Light and Dark stall, Dragon Laser Print and Starlight Dance Company.
Demonstations will include the RNLI on the water, BARB Search and Rescue, and Burnham Coastguard on the beach, The Monarchs Gymnastic Team, The Starlight Dance Company, and Burnham and Highbridge Town Band.
The Opening Ceremony with the Mayor and Town Crier starts at 10am, followed at 10:05am by the RNLI demonstration featuring the Barry Dock and Weston boats along with the RNLI Lifeguards, before Chalice Morris Men perform at 11am, Monarchs Gymnastics take to the arena at 12 noon, BARB will deliver their demonstration at 12:45pm, Starlight Dancing will perform at 1:15pm, and the Town Band will perform at 2pm.
