Two Burnham-On-Sea youngsters have been praised by local residents after setting up a homemade lemonade stand to raise money for a trip to Brean’s fun park.
Cerys and Phoebe decided to put their phones aside and do “something productive”, coming up with the idea of making and selling cups of lemonade and sparkling water for 50p each.
Their stand at the junction of Ben Travers Way and Sheridan Road has quickly become a popular stop for passers-by, with dog walkers, runners and local residents all dropping by to support the pair.
The girls have welcomed dozens of customers and even handed out free drinks to members of a local running club who were passing in the hot weather.
Several people have also donated money without taking a drink, telling the youngsters it was “lovely to see young people making an effort and doing something productive”.
The girls say they are delighted with the response and hope their hard work will help fund a fun day out together at Brean.
