Burnham-On-Sea residents are being invited by Somerset Council to have their say as the deadline approaches to take part in a major county‑wide health and wellbeing survey.
Somerset Council’s Public Health team is urging anyone who has not yet responded to complete the Somerset Health and Wellbeing Survey before it closes on Monday 27th April.
The survey, launched in March, gives people the chance to highlight the issues that matter most to them and help shape future priorities across the county. Everyone who takes part will be entered into a draw to win a £50 Love2Shop voucher.
Cllr Graham Oakes, Lead Member for Public Health, Climate Change and Environment, said this is the final opportunity for residents to make their voices heard.
“This is the last chance for local residents to make their voices heard and help shape the future of health and wellbeing in Somerset,” he said. “We know that local insight makes a real difference. Every response helps us better understand the challenges people face and where support is needed most. If you haven’t taken part yet, I would strongly encourage you to spare a few minutes to complete the survey before it closes.”
The survey has been created and reviewed by people who grew up, live or work in Somerset, ensuring it reflects real local experiences. Feedback will guide future services and highlight barriers residents face in staying healthy.
Previous surveys have already influenced how support is delivered, helping target smoking cessation services, healthy eating initiatives and identifying where Somerset differs from national trends.
The current survey covers a wide range of topics, including physical activity, mental health and wellbeing, smoking and vaping, alcohol and substance use, gambling, oral health, NHS Health Checks and how people access health information.
The survey is completely anonymous, with no names or contact details collected. All responses are stored securely in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Each section takes around two minutes to complete, with the full survey taking roughly 18 minutes.
Somerset Council is encouraging as many people as possible to take part before the closing date to ensure local voices continue to shape future health and wellbeing priorities across the county.
Residents can take part by visiting the Somerset Health and Wellbeing Survey consultation page.
