Burnham’s new weekly summer markets start today – along with Punch and Judy

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s outdoor market returns this weekend with a summer twist — running every Sunday for six weeks over the school holidays at the BASC Ground in Stoddens Road, starting from today (Sunday, July 27th).

Over 40 stalls are booked to attend the weekly events, offering a diverse array of artisan foods, handmade crafts, hot foods and locally produced ciders and beers, in what promises to be a showcase of Somerset talent.

Running from 10am–3pm, the events are free to attend with free parking available on site, making them an ideal weekend outing for families.

Organiser Paul Goodyer, who also runs Burnham’s popular car boot sales, said: “We are delighted to be expanding the events to a weekly format over the summer and will also have added entertainment as well.”

“There will be Punch and Judy from Burnham’s Professor Wheeler and fantastic buskers through the event.”

The markets have grown since launching in April, previously operating monthly on the third Sunday from April to September.

Adding a splash of fun, Family Fun Days are also being planned at the BASC Ground on July 30th and August 27th, bringing entertainment and character appearances to delight younger visitors over the summer holidays.
