A new addition to Burnham-On-Sea’s town centre has opened its doors, bringing a mix of preloved and new fashion items, plus gifts, to Victoria Street.
The Wandering Wardrobe, launched by owner Sarah Picton, welcomed its first customers on Saturday (August 8th) when Burnham’s Town Crier Alistair Murray led the opening with a ring of his bell.
Sarah said the opening day at the new premises at Victoria Court was busy, with lots of interest shown from shoppers keen to browse the rails and make purchases.
She says the shop aims to offer “a relaxed, welcoming space filled with clothing to discover at leisure, along with gifts and a small book corner where visitors can buy or swap titles in good condition.”
“The shop has been a dream for a very long time and this year I decided to take the plunge.” The shop is open from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Sarah adds she is in the shop a couple of days each week, but says The Wandering Wardrobe will always have a friendly face on hand to greet customers.
A Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade spokesperson welcomed the opening, saying it is a great addition to the town centre’s wide variety of independent shops and businesses.
