Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called out late on Monday (September 3rd) to rescue a motorist from this car in a ditch.

Crews from Burnham were called to the vehicle at 11.45pm in Wick Road, Lympsham.

A family member thanked the fire crews on social media and said the lady “is recovering slowly”.

Two fire appliances from Burnham-On-Sea were sent following a call from the ambulance requesting their attendance.

“A car had left the carriageway and come to rest in a ditch, trapping a passenger,” said a fire spokesman.

“Shortly after arriving and assessing the scene crews set to work, along with paramedics, stabilising the vehicle before extricating the female passenger, and making both the vehicle and scene safe.”

The incident was brought under control shortly after 12.20am and duty of care was left with both Police and the Ambulance service.
