Burnham duo to hold car wash today to help typhoon-hit Philippines

-

Two Burnham-On-Sea teenagers who are planning to visit the Philippines to help rebuild and repair communities badly affected by recent typhoons are holding a fundraising car wash today (Saturday).

James Whitrow and Tom Creswick have launched a fundraising campaign to cover the costs of their trip to the country next year.

Their car wash will be held outside Burnham Baptist Church in College Street from 10am-4pm today.

“We have kindly been allowed to use the church’s car park for our car wash, as we are good friends with Steve Ayres, who is the minister there,” said Tom.

“We are offering a hand car wash for just £5, with a coffee/tea and a cake for £1. All of the money is going to our cause.”

James added: “Our car wash will give us the chance to give something back to the community who have been supporting us brilliantly so far.”

The duo also have an online donations page here where funds are welcomed.
