Police are investigating these two car fires in Burnham-On-Sea during the early hours of Friday morning (November 8th).

Firefighters were called to Marine Drive, above, and Sutherland Avenue, right, within minutes of each other.

In the first incident at 2.24am, one fire appliance from Burnham was sent to Sutherland Avenue. The car was 50% damaged by fire and the fire crew used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to bring it under control.

Then at 2.27am, fire crews rushed to Marine Drive where the second car was well alight. The vehicle was approximately 40% damaged by fire. Crews used one hose reel jet and compressed air foam to put out the blaze.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them on the non-emergency number of 101.
