Plans to extend Burnham-On-Sea’s conservation area to be discussed

A proposal to extend the conservation area in Burnham-On-Sea will be among the topics to be discussed at a meeting of Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade and Commerce next week.

The group will throw open up its doors to businesses in the town when it gathers at 6pm on Tuesday January 16th in The Ritz Social Club in Victoria Street.

James White, Sedgemoor District Council’s new Conservation Officer, (pictured right) will be examining the implications of the proposed extension into the town centre of Burnham’s conservation area.

Bob Nicholson, Chairman of Sedgemoor Tourism Association, (pictured below) will also be one of the guest speakers, explaining what his group is doing to attract visitors into the area during 2007.

The Chamber’s committee will also announce the final results of the recent shoppers’ feedback scheme.

Chairman John Edwards told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have a full agenda for our meeting about real issues that matter to businesses om Burnham – promotion of the town, the impact of local government and the view of shoppers. We look forward to welcoming as many businesses as possible.”
