Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Choral Society welcomes newcomers

-

Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society is set to welcome newcomers to its ranks in readiness for its winter programme.

The group re-starts after the summer on Thursday 10th September at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall, College Street, Burnham when new singers will be welcome.

During the summer several members of the society joined The Really Big Chorus at the Royal Albert Hall in London where 2,000 people made up a huge choir to sing Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man.

The society’s Musical Director, Nicholas Bromilow, right, will also be singing there in the penultimate night of the BBC Proms.

“The choir is privileged to have a talented man like Nick to lead us for another season,” says a spokesperson. “He is Musical Director to several choirs and orchestras and we are hoping to combine later in the year for a performance in Bristol. He may be a young man, but has a wise head on young shoulders.”

“Nick takes his music seriously, but brings a sense of joy and humour to rehearsals as well as singing himself and playing the French Horn. Not only do we have an exceptional Musical Director but we are doubly blessed by having a brilliant Accompanist in Frances Webb.”

“They are a great double act. Frances is a sought after pianist, singer and teacher, we are very lucky to have had her with our choir for many years. Together Nick and Frances allow the choir to grow and flourish. They are both helping the choir to achieve their full potential. Whilst making it most enjoyable for choir members.”

“Why not come and join us this Autumn, and take advantage of our good fortune with these two talented people. We begin again on 10th September at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall – you won’t regret it!”
