Burnham and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition gets underway this week when local councillors will be touring the two towns in search of the best illuminations.

The town council will once again be awarding prizes in several categories, including best illuminated private dwelling in Burnham; best illuminated private dwelling in Highbridge; best joint effort (private dwellings) in Burnham and Highbridge; and best decorated shop or business window in Burnham and Highbridge.

“No formal entries for this competition are necessary as the team of judges will be touring both towns. If, however, you particularly want your house or business to be considered please contact the Town Clerk’s office either by calling 788088 or by email at townclerk@burnham-highbridge.org,” town clerk Eileen Shaw told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Judging will take place this coming weekend and early next week with a view to announcing the winners just before Christmas. Click here to see who won last year’s competition.
