Donkeys won’t return to Burnham-On-Sea beach this summer, says council

-

Donkey rides won’t be returning to Burnham-On-Sea beach this summer, it has been confirmed by Sedgemoor District Council this week.

The council advertised a number of concessions earlier this year for the town’s beach and seafront, which included donkey rides, entertainment and food selling.

While Punch and Judy is returning to the seafront, along with two food stalls, sadly no other concessions have come forward.

“We had no interest from any donkey ride providers, despite advertising and sending to the people who have provided in the past. We do not know why,” council spokesman Claire Faun confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Donkeys were last on Burnham beach three years ago.

The full list of this year’s local concessions are: Apex Park ice cream van, Apex Park refreshments, Punch and Judy on Burnham beach/seafront, Seafood stall on the South Esplanade, Crepe/waffle stall adjacent on the Esplanade, and an Ice Cream van on Berrow beach.
