The family of a man found dead on the M5 between Burnham-On-Sea and Weston has thanked the public for their support.
On August 8th, when the body was discovered, Avon and Somerset Police said they believe the body is that of 52-year-old Scott Morris, who had been missing since July 23rd.
Police were called to the location on the M5 northbound between junction 22 for Burnham-On-Sea and junction 21 for Weston-super-Mare at around 12.50pm, as reported here.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “His next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this time. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and we will prepare a file and carry out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.”
His family has this week issued a statement via the police who say: “They wish to thank the local community and people for their support in looking for Scott.
“They said this is an incredibly difficult time for everyone who knew and loved Scott, and they have respectfully asked people to respect their privacy.”
