Crowds of shoppers flocked to Burnham-On-Sea’s first outdoor market to be held in the town’s High Street on Friday (June 23rd).

A dozen stalls selling fresh fruit, vegetables, crafts and other local produce were set up in the centre of the High Street near Cross Street.

Organised by Town Centre Manager Anne-Marie Spalding, the event will also be held on a monthly basis on the last Friday of July and August.

Meanwhile, a huge three-day continental market is also set to be held on the town’s seafront shortly.

It will be held from 9.00am-5.00pm on Friday 30th June, Saturday 1st July and Sunday 2nd July. was first to report about the markets earlier this year, which came after the official Farmers Markets moved to Sanders Garden World.
