A man from Highbridge has died after his car collided with a tree near Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday (March 10th).

Emergency services were called to the A38 just after 2pm when the 48-year-old man’s Citroen Xantia came off the road.

“The incident happened as the car travelled northbound on the A38 a short distance from the Dunball roundabout near Bridgwater,” said police spokeswoman Sarah Key.

“A five-year-old boy was also in the car and was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital as a precaution but was unharmed. An investigation into the collision is ongoing.”

Police have appealed for witnesses to the tragic incident. Officers have asked anyone who saw the collision who has not yet spoken to them to contact their Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
