Burnham-On-Sea shop’s dismay as flowers are stolen from planters

-

A Burnham-On-Sea shop’s owners have expressed their dismay at thieves stealing flowers from planters in the High Street.

Richard and Jax Gardiner-White, pictured, who run Gardiner Whites greengrocers, have been trying to keep the planters as colourful as possible for the summer season by keeping them stocked with flowers.

But Richard told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have been shocked to find several plants have been stolen after we’d added them to the displays.”

“It’s so disrespectful and disappointing that this would happen. We’ve even noticed several of the planters have had cigarette buts and empty drink cans left among the flowers.”

“We have received lots of feedback about the displays, so this is so disappointing. We are trying to help to make the town centre look brighter.”
