Free dementia support clinics to be held at Nationwide in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Free specialist dementia support will be available in Burnham-On-Sea this week when Nationwide Building Society hosts two Dementia UK Admiral Nurse Clinics on 9th and 10th September.

The sessions, held inside the High Street branch, offer expert one‑to‑one advice for anyone affected by dementia — including carers, family members and those living with the condition.

Organisers say four appointment slots are still available, and the clinics are open to everyone, not just Nationwide customers.

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who provide tailored guidance on coping strategies, emotional support, care planning and navigating health and social care services. The clinics aim to give local families direct access to professional help at a time when many face long waits for advice elsewhere.

A spokesperson for the branch said staff are happy to help arrange appointments for anyone who would benefit from speaking to an Admiral Nurse. “These sessions are completely free, and we want to make sure local people know they can come in, talk to us, and get the support they need,” they said.

Appointments can be booked online via Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurse Clinics, or by contacting the Burnham-On-Sea Nationwide branch directly.
