Burnham-On-Sea garden centre scoops top marketing award

-

A Burnham-On-Sea garden centre has this week been presented with a gold award at a glittering ceremony in Manchester.

Sanders Garden World scooped the top accolade for its marketing and public relations initiatives at the retail and garden centre industry-run event.

Delighted Garden World Director Phil Hancock said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. The title is part of the national 2006 Retail Awards, which take place each year. We would like to thank everyone involved for all of their hard work and commitment in helping us to win this top accolade.”

The 2006 Retail Awards is a prestigious awards ceremony which aims to recognise exceptional achievement in the DIY, garden and houseware sectors of the retail industry. The centre picked up the award for its marketing campaign for Circus Americano, which pitched its big top at Sanders Garden World in December 2005.

Phil added: “The circus was a huge success with people both young and old last year. The troupe put on a spectacular show, which was attended by thousands. It was such a hit that we asked them back to perform a new festive routine this Christmas.”

The troupe will be in their big top at the Brent Knoll garden centre from December 4th for 28 days and will be hosting shows on weekdays at 5pm and 7.30pm daily, on Saturdays at 2pm, 5pm and 7.30pm and on Sundays at 2pm and 5pm.

Meanwhile, the garden centre has also been short-listed as a finalist for the national Garden Centre of the Year competition. Directors and staff will travel to a ceremony on November 22nd to hear whether they have scooped an award.
