Young members of Highbridge’s Gospel Tabernacle raised hundreds of pounds to help underprivileged children by holding a car wash.

The proceeds of Sunday morning’s event will help poor children in Romania to attend a summer camp this year.

The group raised £270 from the car wash in the town’s Bank Street car park, which followed £70 from a fundraising cake sale held earlier in the month.

“The children have done superbly well and the £340 they have raised will enable 17 underprivileged Romanian children to get to summer camp this year,” Pastor Kelton Black told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
