Around 200 runners are expected to take part in Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Half Marathon today (Sunday, October 7th).

The starting gun will be fired at 11am at Burnham’s BASC Ground to signal the start of the 13-mile run.

The runners will head along Love Lane and Queen’s Drive, before turning left along the A38 towards Brent Knoll and then on to East Brent, Lympsham, Wick Road and Red Road, before returning to Burnham via Berrow Road.

Organiser Brian Beale from Burnham Harriers Club told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re pleased with the entry numbers so far and will be accepting late entries right up until the final hour before Sunday’s event.”

He added: “The event will go ahead whatever the weather – that won’t be a factor. We are looking forward to a great event.”

Entry fees are £20 for UKA affiliated runners and £22 for others. There will also be a one-mile fun run, with entry costing £2 per person.

He added that the club is grateful to the event’s sponsors, Highbridge’s M5 Glass and Proper Job of Burnham.

Burnham-On-Sea.com will provide coverage of the results and photos
