Generous members of a Burnham-On-Sea running club have this week handed over a £500 donation to the town’s BASC sports club to help fund its expansion project.

Burnham Harriers Chairman Chuck Pearce presented the cheque to BASC Chairman Neil McKen on Tuesday evening (May 25th), watched by members of the running club.

“Burnham Harriers’ runners have beeing using the BASC Ground for over 25 years and we wanted to show our appreciation for its facilities and support its ongoing expansion work,” Harriers secretary Brian Beale told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The group was thanked by Mr McKen, who said: “This is a fantastic gesture which is very much appreciated. It’s a clear demonstration of how beneficial it can be when sports groups work together.”

Burnham Harriers oversee the town’s annual half marathon and the annual Brent Knoll Run. Entry forms are available from Mr Beale by email here.

Burnham’s BASC Ground opened its refurbished changing facilities and new viewing terrace in March this year.
