Dozens of horse-drawn carriages were driven from Brean beach to Burnham-On-Sea and back on Sunday (May 12th) to raise money for charity.

Members of the travelling community gathered on Brean beach and then rode the carriages through Brean and Berrow to Burnham before returning.

It comes after a young boy in the group has successfully recovered from a cancer diagnosis over the past year.

“To say thank you to the Bristol Children’s Hospital, we held this event to raise funds for the Wallace and Gromit Appeal in support of their amazing work,” a spokesman for the group told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The carriages arrived in Burnham along the Esplanade before resting in the town’s Pier Street car park and then heading to The Lighthouse in the afternoon before returning to Brean beach.
