Horse riders hurt after being thrown from their animals at Berrow

-

Crews from Burnham-On-Sea Coastguard and BARB Search & Rescue were called to Berrow beach on Sunday afternoon (November 8th) to help two horse riders after an accident.

Their animals had been spooked and the young teenage riders were thrown onto the hard sand.

Coastguard Station Officer Dave Welland said: “Both had come off their horses and one was thought to have suffered concussion.”

“They were checked over by an ambulance crew on the scene.”

“Both horses had galloped off in the direction of Burnham and were later recovered near Maddocks Slade.”

The crews assisted the ambulance team and helped to locate and round up the horses.
