The sights and sounds of vintage farm machinery working in summers gone by returned to Isleport Farm in Highbridge over the weekend.

The annual Isleport Steam and Vintage Working Show took place on Saturday July 30th and Sunday 31st and drew big crowds.

Attractions included hay making, threshing and wood sawing demonstrations, plus blacksmithing and a large number of vintage vehicles including steam engines, tractors, cars, commercials, and stationary engines.

Organiser Mike Laurence told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been another very successful show – we had over 600 people on Saturday and well over that figure on Sunday.”

“This may be my last show – it’s got very big and takes a lot of time to organise. I’d like to pass it on to someone else if possible.”

Local tractor drivers also demonstrated their expertise at tractor pulling – an event that was once again popular with spectators.

This year’s event at Isleport Farm in Highbridge raised funds for Somerset’s air ambulance and Macmillan.
