Kind-hearted Burnham-On-Sea Scouts prepare and cook meals for pensioners

-

Kind-hearted Burnham-On-Sea Scouts have prepared and cooked a two-course meal for scores of pensioners in the local community.

Leader Jacob Beard said: “The Scouts offered a choice of roast beef or pork served with stuffing, yorkshire puddings, and vegetables followed by a choice of trifle or apple crumble – all made by the Scouts!”

“The Scouts welcomed our guests and chatted with them before waiting on their tables. The Scouts then sat and eat with the guests and enjoyed hearing about their life experiences. There was even time for a game of Pictionary before the afternoon ended with the Scouts and guests playing together.”

He added: “We’d like to thank all our guests for joining us for Sunday lunch, the Scouts loved chatting to them and really enjoyed the day. We’d also like to say a massive thank you to Brit Chips for peeling our potatoes for us, this saved the Scouts hours of work if they had to do it by hand!”

One of the guests said: “Thank you for a lovely afternoon. All the Scouts were very polite and the food was great. Thank you for putting on this event – the work you do means so much to everyone here.”
