Local equestrian rider, 17, wins at British Dressage National Championships

-

A teenage equestrian enthusiast from the village of Mark near Burnham-On-Sea is celebrating success at the British Dressage National Summer Freestyle Championships.

Florence Human, 17, who lives in Mark and goes to Strode College, has competed in the championships by performing dressage to music.

She and her horse, Fulgencio (known as Dylan at home), danced into first place with music from her favourite musical, Hamilton.

Delighted Florence told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I have been riding since before I could walk and have done everything from pony racing to gymkhana.”

“Since buying Dylan I have been solely focussed on dressage and he has been the horse of a lifetime – and we’ve only had him two years!”

“During the test I was smiling from ear to ear as I love performing to our music.”

”So to find out we had won was just the icing on the cake – I was almost in tears!”
