Glastonbury Festival boss Michael Eavis will visit Burnham-On-Sea this week to give a talk on his involvement with the long-running music festival.

Michael – who earlier this year named Burnham as his favourite place in Somerset – will talk to members of Burnham Women’s Institute.

He will give a talk on Tuesday (24th September) from 2pm at Burnham Community Centre in Berrow Road.

Non W.I. members – men and women – will be welcome to attend and there will be a charge of £3 to include light refreshments.

In an article in The Guardian newspaper’s travel section in June, Michael said he frequently visits Burnham, adding: “It’s laid-back and unspoilt – which is why I still love it. I come back every couple of weeks to walk the dogs out to the lighthouse.”

Mr Eavis has featured on Burnham-On-Sea.com several times in recent years for his visits. In 2008, he was the VIP guest that turned on Burnham’s Christmas lights, as featured here. And in 2011, he opened the community-run tourist information centre on The Esplanade, featured here.
