A ten year-old Highbridge boy has been safe and well after going missing on Saturday evening, prompting a full-scale search.

Police issued an urgent appeal for help in finding Connor Coles, who was reported missing at around 5.50pm from his home on Highbridge’s Poplar Estate.

Officers said they were “extremely concerned” for Connor, who haa learning disabilities, and called out crews from Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards and BARB Search & Rescue to join in the search after it was believed he could have been headed to the seafront or beach.

But fortunately the boy was found safe and well by police at an amusement arcade in Burnham at 8pm and was returned to his relieved family.

Police thanked the public and crews for their help in supporting the appeal.
