This group of talented gymnasts from Burnham-On-Sea is celebrating this week after striking gold during a top competition.

The youngsters from Burnham’s Monarchs Gymnastics Club were competing in the South West Preliminaries at Yate during the run-up to the British Championships in a fortnight’s time.

Ashley Payne and Ria Kelson clinched gold medals in the Mixed Pairs; Conor McKenna and Jacob Baker won gold in the men’s pairs; and silver medals were won by Abbey McArdle, Gemma Lewis and Jazmine Bassett in the women’s trio.

There was further success during a tumbling competition, with gold medals being won by Jessica Titcombe, Chris Rogers, Ashley Payne, Crystal Hale, Matthew Short and Sean McKenna.
