A fresh warning to motorists about parking on local beaches has been issued after the owner of this car at Brean got a scare at the weekend.

The owner of the vehicle had parked on the beach near Brean Cove before wandering off to watch the planes fly over during the Weston Air Show, apparently unaware of the incoming tide.

“The tide come in all around the car, with the waves lapping around the wheels, and the owners had a quite a shock when they realised what was happening,” the beach warden told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Fortunately, it was near high tide and they were able to drive it away before any damage was done.”

Beach wardens have again warned motorists to read safety leaflets, signs and check the tide times before parking on local beaches at Brean and Berrow.
