Community-spirited person thanked for repairing vandalised public bench in Berrow

-

A community-spirited person has been thanked for repairing a vandalised bench along a footpath in Berrow.

The nature bench was installed last year along the ‘sandy way nature trail’, which runs alongside Burnham and Berrow golf course, as Burnham-On-Sea.com featured here.

The bench, uniquely made from recycled pallets and fallen branches, was sadly damaged by vandals over the weekend.

But local resident Mike Schollar, who is part of a working party that maintains the path, says the local person who built the bench has come forward to repair it. “We would like to say a huge thank you to this person,” he says.

The public footpath runs from the entrance to the Golf Club through to the Greenkeepers’ compound near the Berrow Co-op Store. The path is open to walkers, but is not suitable for bicycles or horse riders.
