Mystery surrounds a large object that washed up on Berrow Beach on Saturday (April 4th), sparking curiosity among beach walkers and a wave of theories online.
The rigid plastic structure, which measures around 8ft tall and 12ft wide, was discovered on the tideline during Saturday morning’s high tide.

Beach wardens managed to tow it to the top of the beach while enquiries began to identify its owner and purpose.
It is believed the item may be linked to fish farming. A closer inspection revealed clusters of mussel shells attached to the frame, suggesting it had been in the sea for a long length of time before breaking free.

Local residents offered a wide range of alternative theories. On Burnham‑On‑Sea.com’s Facebook page, suggestions included everything from a giant trampoline to an MMA fighting ring, a giant hamster wheel, a part from Hinkley Point, a UFO landing frame, a lobster pot, a hay feeder for cows, and a chicken pen.
The structure remains secured on the beach while efforts continue to trace where it came from and how it ended up on the beach.
