Breezy conditions were welcomed by kite enthusiasts during a festival held by the National Trust on Brean Beach on Sunday (September 27th).

A steady flow of visitors headed to the sands next to Brean Down through the day where the first kite festival was organised by the Trust.

Families were able to get advice from enthusiasts about how to get the best flight out of their kites of all shapes and sizes – and try their hand at the past time.

“We had plenty of interest in this new event at Brean Down and were delighted with the turnout,” said a spokeswoman from the National Trust. “We definitely hope that the event will return again next year.”
