A new butcher and general food shop is set to open on Burnham-On-Sea High Street this spring, its owners have announced this week.
Refurbishment of the former Mammoth furniture store, which closed last December, is now underway. The large premises is being transformed ahead of its planned opening in June.
The new store will feature a full butchery counter offering fresh local meats and produce, alongside a wide range of speciality foods and groceries.
Owner Mr Singh says the shop will also include a beer cave stocking local ales, plus a selection of Asian foods including masala flours.
At the front of the store, an Indian café area is being created for customers to enjoy hot snacks and drinks.
“We aim to open in June and look forward to welcoming customers,” he said.
The opening will bring a new addition to the High Street’s offering, filling a prominent unit and adding a mix of traditional and international produce for shoppers.
