A new-look Chinese restaurant and takeaway is set to open in Burnham-On-Sea town centre.

‘New Dragon Rise’ is opening in College Street later in September, moving from its smaller premises on the seafront near the Pavilion. It comes after the closure of Monos cafe earlier this week, as we reported here.

Speaking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, owner Anita Chan, pictured, said: “It’s exciting to be opening our new restaurant. We have always offered take-aways and never had the space to offer dining as well.”

New signs for the restaurant went up on Thursday and the business is set to open within two weeks.

Anita says the restaurant will offer an expanded menu to cover a wide variety of traditional Chinese dishes.

“We will initially open in the evenings from 5pm, seven days a week over the peak summer, and we also intend to open at lunchtime in the future too.”
