Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre is hosting new vocal choral workshops for those with Long Covid and respiratory complaints.

The sessions, called Thriving Voices, are run by The Bluebirds Theatre Company and Burnham’s Princess Theatre is hosting five free workshops from Wednesday 17th November to Wednesday 15th December from 1-3pm.

Funded by Thriving Communities, a collaboration between Take Art, Spark Somerset and Somerset Wildlife, the group sessions are run by experienced vocal leaders Sasha Herriman and Amy Hardwick.

“You will learn how to improve your breathing and strengthen muscles, how to manage your condition with transferable techniques and you will meet other people with the same issues,” says a spokeswman.

“Most of all you will have fun! No prior experience is necessary.”

“Long COVID is used to describe signs and symptoms that last for longer than 4 weeks after getting COVID-19.”

“It can affect your whole body, and your symptoms can change and come and go over time.”

“This course helps you focus on getting control of your breathing and strengthening the muscles to support your voice.  Singing your way to better health!”
